ovarian cancer
cancer of the testes
some types of lung cancer
cancer of the brain and/or spinal cord
cancer of the head and neck
neuroblastoma (a cancer of the nerves and adrenal glands)
a type of cancer called sarcoma.
Carboplatin belongs to a group of medicines called antineoplastic or cytotoxic medicines. You may also hear of these being called chemotherapy medicines. This medicine is classified as a platinum-complex cytotoxic.
It works by killing cancer cells and/or stopping cancer cells from growing and multiplying.
DBL Carboplatin Injection is often used in combination with other medicines to treat cancer.

DBL Cefotaxime Sodium is an antibiotic used to treat infections of the:
kidneys and bladder
blood (septicaemia)
skin and flesh immediately under the skin
bones
heart valves
brain (meningitis)
abdomen (peritonitis)
some sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhoea).
It is also used to prevent infections before, during and after surgery.
Cefotaxime will not work against infections caused by viruses such as colds or the flu.
Cefotaxime belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins (kef-a-loe-SPOR-ins). These antibiotics work by killing the bacteria that are causing your infection.
Your doctor may have prescribed cefotaxime for another reason.

DBL Cisplatin Injection is a platinum-containing medicine and is used as an anticancer drug to interfere with the growth of cancer cells and eventually destroy them. Cancer cells are like normal cells which have changed so that they grow out of control in the body. Since the growth of normal body cells may also be affected by cisplatin, other effects may also occur (see Side Effects).
DBL Cisplatin Injection may be used alone or with other anticancer therapies.
DBL Cisplatin Injection has been chosen as your therapy, as the benefits of treatment are expected to be greater than the unwanted or side effects.

Cytarabine is classified as an antimetabolite. It interferes with the growth of cancer cells, which are eventually destroyed. Since the growth of normal body cells may also be affected by cytarabine, other effects may also occur (see Side Effects).
Cytarabine is most often used in combination with other medicines to treat cancer (especially leukaemias).

Desferrioxamine mesilate is a binding agent which is used to remove excess iron from the body, thereby reducing damage that excess iron may cause. This may be necessary after poisoning with iron containing medicines or in certain patients with anaemia who receive many blood transfusions.

Dexamethasone phosphate (as sodium) is a glucocorticoid and belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids. It may be used to treat an inactive or underactive adrenal gland or to treat a number of different diseases such as certain immune disorders and skin problems, asthma or arthritis. Corticosteroids reduce inflammation, one of the body’s reactions to injury. Except for its use in the treatment of underactive adrenal glands, dexamethasone phosphate (as sodium) does not cure disease; it treats the symptoms.
