ASK YOUR PHARMACIST WEEK

17 – 24 August 2007

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia is once again running Ask Your Pharmacist Week. The campaign, to be held in August 2007, is an important part of the Guild's strategy to profile community pharmacy as the "ultimate health care destination" – an accessible frontline provider of medicine and healthcare information and advice.

Ask Your Pharmacist Week 2007 will focus on raising consumer awareness and demand for pharmacy professional services such as Consumer Medicine Information (CMI) and to provide a platform for the launch of the Pharmacy of the Year People's Choice competition.

Nationally, Ask Your Pharmacist Week 2007 campaign consists of a variety of tactics including use of existing Guild communication channels, media and public relations, a launch event with the Federal Health Minister, distribution of a community service announcement for television and direct mail of promotional materials and resources to community pharmacies.

Similarly to the campaign in 2006, there will be a strong focus on engaging pharmacists to promote the campaign messages in their local community, both directly to their customers and through the local media. This will provide them with a valuable opportunity to promote the professional services and community engagement activities they provide in the local communities.
